Westerdok
Westerdok is a new build area right in the heart of Amsterdam, 10 minutes walk from central station. The studio of Doreen Westphal Design was situated there from October 2008 until beginning of 2010. In the autumn of 2009 the whole area was opened by Job Cohen, who was the mayor of Amsterdam at the time, now he is running for president in the coming election.
The people living at Westerdok wanted to thank him with a present and gave him the Westerdok cushion, designed by Doreen Westphal featuring screen-printed images of old and new features of that place.
